*Worked at Glen Raven Cotton Mills in North Carolina from about 1900 until his retirement in 1925. He was the superintendent of the plant and is mentioned in a book about the plant written by Elizabeth Gant, called "the Raven".
I found him in the North Carolina census records for 1900 and 1910 and 1920. In all 3 census records he is the superintendent of the cotton mills. On his death certificate, the cause of death is listed as "stomach cancer".

I went to the Massachusetts State Archives on Sat. Feb. 12, 2000. The original ledger recording the marriage of James Cross Reid (occupation supervisor at "Parker Co.) and Isabella Marsh, born in Pawtucket Rhode Island was at the archives.
Reference Vol. # 417....pg.389
*Isabella is listed in the Pawtucket Rhode Island census of 1870 with her family. She is four years old.
The marriage took place on August 28, 1891, but was not recorded until September 1891. She is listed as being age 25, he age 36.

I believe that Craig's middle name was for the Babcocks. "Aunt Sue and Uncle Fred" were a childless couple who lived in Attleboro. They took Gordon and Craig to live with them during the 1930's. Their nephew, Bill Babcock was a friend of James Cross Reid.

Buried in Rockridge Cemetery in Sharon, Massachusetts. He worked as superintendent and designer of textiles- later for the U.S. army Engineers as a contract specialist.
