On June 9, 2000 I spent four hours searching through the Babtism Records for Rutherglen, Lanark, Scotland. I am still placing names and dates on the family tree, but I decided that there was nothing like at least an image of the real records to give one the feeling of history and place. The spidery, sometimes elegant, sometimes sloppy writing is an image that moves me, so I hope you enjoy looking at them. I'm just starting, so I'll probably add more next Saturday. I used my trusty Digital Camera at the Microfilm Reader, then used the tricks I know in Photoshop to maximize images that are often very murky....but it worked! The Family History Center I go to, doesn't have a good Microfilm Printer, so this will have to do. All the above are people connected to my family tree, except the second one "begotten". I had to add it. The entry was an illegitimate child, who was listed by first name only, with the mother's name... and the additional "begotten in fornication"....
