A wonderful web site; Husband is descended through Michael F; Bazzell; Through research I am thoroughly confused as to who the father of Grancer Kendil is; Can you give some insight; Why do some think David is or is not the father and others think Richard; This was on a genforum: "Richard L Bazzell was the father of Grancer Kendall Bazzell; Here is my line: Thomas Bazzell (1664-)His son John Green (1699- )his son, John Green I ( 1734- ) his son ,Richard L; Bazzell (1779-1862) his son, Grancer Kendall Bazzell (1799-1880);his son, Smith L; Bazzell (1816-1886), etc;" That's my confusion; Thanks so much for all your hard work; I can give you more updated info through private email on descendants of Michael F; Brazzell;

Hi Beryl, Found new evidence of Emelines last name; It was not Arcadia, it was Spain; Also, Berry J; Bridger/ Bridges and Mary Freeman from Wayne county North Carolina ARE Calloways parents; They had 9 children, I am trying to get list of all childrens names from a decendant of one of Calloways brothers; The Berry J and Mary Freeman Bridges from Oglesthorpe ,Ga; were the ones who did not have children; I also have a will from Abigail COGDELL's( not Coggeshall) mother showing she ( Abigail) was married to John Bridger/Bridges, who is the father of Berry J; Berry j; Bridges went to Kentucky and the last name was altered by census taker;

Sarah Bazzell daugter of Mathias M; Bazzell is my Great Grandmother; I have read on someones family tree that John Green Bazzell came from Bavaria but others say from Scotland; Do you know where the Bazzell family came from in Europe?

I have also read this on many message boards. There is really no way of being sure. I have tracked the Bazzells back as far as the late 1700s to Person and Caswell county, NC. The pension testimony of David Bazwell states the family started in Spotsylvania county, VA before the Revolution. My best guess is that they were from Eastern Europe because there always seemed to be an insistence on including the letter "Z" in the spelling, even in areas where there were many "Boswell" families. But, that is all there can be here, an educated guess. I don't think it's always possible to unearth some long past history without documents. By the way, we share a gr gr gr grandparent, my direct ancestor was Calvin T. Bazzell, younger brother to Mathias M. Bazzell. Are you descended from Thomas Kindal McGee? |
