Stockton ~ Hall
Photos and Headstones
Mississippi
This is a complicated family line. Mary Ann Stockton (photo, row 3-far left ) is the daughter of John Clayton Stockton. Her husband was Josiah Hall, whose mother was Jane Hall. Jane Hall, after the death of Thomas, married John Clayton Stockton, Mary Ann's father. My great grandmother, Penelope Stockton was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Stockton and Susan Jane Hall, from another Hall family. So Jane Hall became stepmother and mother-in-law to both Mary Ann Stockton and Martin Van Buren Stockton (who died in a POW camp in TN during the Civil War in 1863).Martin Van Buren married Carolyn Matilda Hall, another of Thomas and Jane Hall's children.

Many thanks to Betty Adams, a Stockton descendent in Mississippi for the photographs of the Stockton / Halls here. Thanks to Randy Mink for the Daniel Hall~Sarah Sample photo and thanks to Cheryl Cummings for the photos of her great grandmother, Martha Caledonia (Stockton) Bell. Martha was the oldest daughter of Andrew Jackson Stockton and Susan Jane Hall and my great grandmother's sister. Click here to see the Stockton family line.
