Click on thumbnail photos to see larger picture. This is a church that Daniel Shipman, Jacob Shipman and his family belonged to in the 1780's and 1790's. It is located (see little map below) in Mooresboro, North Carolina. In the bottom row is a closeup picture of the cornerstone of the church, which shows the incorporation date. I did not find any Shipman gravestones in the cemetery, but there were a great many fieldstone grave markers in the old section of the cemetery (see 3rd row, second from the left) so I am sure many were from the 1700's and unmarked. The last house is directly across the street. I included it just to give a better sense of place for this location.
